Astronomy in All Seasons
The European Association for Astronomy Education – EAAE, launches the project Astronomy in All Seasons which aims to cover a period of the year in which there are no other EAAE projects called.
Every year, very easy-to-execute projects will be proposed that those interested in participating can carry out without difficulty.
Each work may be presented individually or or in a group and to complete it, students may do the work alone or have the help of a teacher or their parents.
Astronomy in All Seasons is a contest that has been held as a result of the collaboration between the European Association for Astronomy Education (EAAE) and European Southern Observatory (ESO).

How to Participate:Enjoying the solar eclipse of 2026.
3th Contest of Astronomy in all Seasons: Seize the day, Seize the year
Dates: the contest is open from April 1 to October 31, 2026.
All participants will receive a certificate of participation once the contest has ended.
Once the contest ends, EAAE will hold a Closing Online Conference related to the theme this year’s edition: Enjoying the Solar Eclipse of 2026.

Goodbye Gaia. Milky Way and Mission Gaia
2nd Contest: Astronomy in all Seasons - EAAE
The total number of works received in the competition was 177, submitted around the world across all age categories, in accordance with the rules and conditions of participation published on the official website of the EAАЕ https://eaae-astronomy.org/projects/all-seasons/goodbye-gaia
Between March 27 and October 31, 2025, the submitted works were evaluated in three age categories:
- Ages 6–10;
- Ages 11–14;
- Ages 15–18.

We propose a simple sundial contest so that students and anyone who wants can participate, regardless of their age, from anywhere in the world.

2nd Contest: Astronomy in all Seasons
A Competition by the European Association for Astronomy Education (EAAE)
We propose a simple competition of Gaia-related activities to celebrate its farewell after 30 years of expanding our knowledge of the universe. Students and anyone else, regardless of age and from anywhere in the world, are welcome to participate in the proposed activities.
