The Space Art Contest 2026, organized to encourage creativity in the field of space and astronomy, has been successfully completed with a high level of participation and many impressive artworks. The submitted pieces stood out for both their artistic quality and scientific inspiration.
The contest was held in three categories: ages 6–10, 11–14, and 15–18. Students created original, space-themed artworks individually and submitted them through their teachers. Along with their work, participants provided short explanations describing the astronomical object or phenomenon they chose and what inspired them.
All entries submitted by April 10, 2026 were carefully evaluated by a jury composed of members of the European Association for Astronomy Education (EAAE). The results were officially announced on April 22, 2026, in celebration of Earth Day.
In each category, first, second, and third place winners, as well as honorable mentions, were selected. The winners will receive diplomas and gifts provided in collaboration with the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and EAAE, which will be sent to their schools by mail.
All participants are entitled to receive digital certificates, which have been sent to their teachers via email.
The Space Art Contest 2026 has provided an inspiring platform that brings together science and art while fostering students’ interest in space. We would like to thank all participating students and their teachers, and we warmly congratulate the winners.
