Many artists have inspired themselves on the vision of the nightsky or about the mythology associated to astronomical phenomena. Sometimes the association isn't quite obvious unless we are aware of it.

For instance if we look at Perseus in Rubens painting "Perseus and Andromeda" there is no doubt that the author inspired himself on the constellation to project Perseus position and his holding of the Medusa, that represents the constellation's variable star Algol.

In a more or less direct way the sky has always been an inspiration to artists. We now hope that the young artists at our schools may be likewise inspired by the sky into producing there own "masterpieces".
